im from Middlesbrough up in the Northeast of England and we have a few sayings that get odd looks from people who live down south for instance
where you at? - pronounced where-y-at?
got some one well confused till i explained its how i ask people where they are
h'away man - pronounced ha-way man
most people get this from the context in which its used....when someones taking their bitter sweet time over something saying this is like saying "hurry it up!"
aye' man - pronounced I-man
short for yeah or yes
ya alright pet? - pronounced ya'lright pet
mainly said by old people....also dear, flower, and pettle can be exchanged for pet.
your joking arent you? - pronounced ya-jokin-arn-ya?
basically another version of WTF when someones idea is totally bollocks. or when you ask someone a question like "nemeth could of scored that sitter" to which the response might be "ya joking arn ya...nemeth's a useless sack of sh!t"
any of you guys got slang/sayings that people in the next state/county would be like WTF if you blurted out some of them?
