One of our local papers (http://www.post-gazette.com/) has a prominent graphic today that says to click on it to get a printable sample ballot you can take with you to the polls.

When you click on it, it shows you a list of the candidates which the paper endorsed. Not quite a "sample ballot".

Does this seem a little sleazy to anyone else?

I got a card-stock sheet in the mail from the AFL-CIO (even though nether I nor my GF are members) with a list of all the candidates they support and encourging me to take the sheet to the polls with me so I know who to vote for.

Guess which party every single candidate they endorsed belonged to... /yawn

Pretty sleazy. My local liberal rag at least had a "voters guide" that was about as non-partisan as you could get with just a few questions to each and every candidate (same question/issue to all runners in a race) and posted their answers.

Because regardless of the party, the ethics only matter for the other side.

...and don't forget Economics, Social Mores, and the insurmountable weight of (your interpretation) of 234 years of Constitutional and Legal precedent.

Its says in big bold letters at the top...

"Post-Gazette

endorsements"

Have to be pretty dumb not to know what it is.
That and right leaning papers do the same thing. Funny I don;t see any other right wingers saying how that is wrong?

That and their endorsements have a mix of R and D's. Seems like a middle of the road paper.

I don't care who they endorse. Yes, I can easily see that it is a list of the candidates they endorsed. My issue was with the banner on the home page saying to click here for a "sample ballot" you can take with you to the polls. It's not in any way a "sample ballot", is it?

And what does it have to do with left-wing or right-wing anything? Where did that come from?

Sounds pretty reasonable, avoid voting for Republicans at all cost, but if you must, don't vote for teabaggers.

Nice thing about being a liberal elite is that you get to vote your conscience while white trash votes your financial interests. Eat your cake and have it too :D

Read above my replay, you can see several people already saying how the evil liberals... and other usually BS talking points.

My point was that its BOLD title tells people what it is and both right and left side groups do the same thing.
Do what i do, ignore them and think for yourself.

It's a newspaper, supposed to report things, not have a "sample ballot" with their endorsements no matter what those endorsements are.

Funny you only mention "local liberal rag..." above. Oh thats right when they endorse someone you don;t like its a "local liberal rag" and they should not do so. Yet I can;t find any thread by you saying right leaning papers should not do the same.

My paper does have a big leftist swing and I don't have a problem with them having endorsements.

I would have a severe problem with them having a "sample ballot" with those endorsements on it, it's shady as newspapers frequently report real sample ballots so you know what they'll look like and where to go. Can't you see the difference?

All of the above conservative posters watch Fox News. Why are we talking about this again?
