Link.

I only recorded the ending of it (which is why it caught my attention in the first place). I did a double take the first time I heard it. The beginning of the commercial was that guy talking about how he's proud GM vehicles are made in the USA or something like that. I hope to record it all sometime later.

But seriously, that commericial is just amazingly offensive.

He thinks he's at war with Japanese car manufacturers.

Technically they are.

But why single them out? And the comparison to WW2 is totally unreasonable.

It is not unreasonable at all. Back in 1990 when I was in Graduate School I even talked about this with a friend who I did a lot of work with. I told him that the Japanese could not win WWII and with it died their hopes for Imperialism but that they just refocused their energy and were now becoming economic Imperialists. He agreed. The Japanese are cutthroat in business.

How do you know that the war reference is about Japanese manufacturers? Maybe it's a price war between dealerships. You can't tell by that short clip. People hear what they want to hear.

Yes you can....he says "you don't have to bomb Pearl Harbor to know we are in a war". That is a paraphrase but basically what he says.

It's more evident if you saw the beginning of the commercial. I only recorded the end of it.
