Panic would be "Hey lets get the hell out of here!" as opposed to "Hey let's drag a gasoline drenched matress throgh a house, WHILE IT'S BURNING. THE HOUSE WON'T BURN DOWN! BRILLIANT!" 😕
 
I often find the need to clean my hands by dousing with gasoline and lighting on fire. Their mistake was to use the mattress as a towel😉

Must have been on the bed when they were doing it.... wonder what it was they were trying to remove from their hands.
 
Read the article... They poured gas on their hands and lit them on fire. In the process of burning their hands they caught the mattress on fire.
