Local co-op / split screen game recommendation

I have setup a SteamOS box in my living stream, capable of streaming games from my main PC in the office. My brother will be visiting for about a week, and I would like to have some local multiplayer games available.

I have Rocket League due to the Steam Box preorder, and recently picked up Speed Runners as recommended. Do you have any other suggestions? Not a big racing or fighting fan (outside of Mario Kart and Smash Brothers, respectively).

Portal 2 is a fun puzzle co-op. Not sure if the PC version have local co-op though. I played on the PS3.

Check this list out as well.

I've never played any coop except racing games or the older console games on nintendo and dreamcast so I can't really recommened any.

magicka not so fun with controller imho.
lego games are a good choice
Guacamelee! and Chariot are also easy to pick up and fun.
Serious sam 3 has a split screen mode.

If you like Mario Kart, you might like Sonic All Stars Racing. It has local split screen.

Binding of Isaac: Rebirth has a local co-op mode that is pretty fun. Personally, it is my all-time favorite game but I know a lot of people aren't really into it. Just throwing it out there because a lot of people don't even realize it has a co-op mode.

LOVE the Trine games (all of them). I normally hate side scrollers, but this really sucked me in. I love playing it with my 11 year old daughter. The graphics are gorgeous.

Portal 2 is another one that I love playing with the kiddos.
