OK, here is my rant.
I've got a job that I've been pretty happy with. But I've put my resume together and started looking at some of the job sites. Seems like at least half the postings, I read throught it, it sounds like a good job, then at the bottom it says "LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY". WTF?
Why in the hell do companies put job postings on sites like monster.com and dice.com when they will only consider local candidates. Don't they realize these are national job sites? Don't they realize that only 1 out of 1000 people that see their posting actually live in the area they are in? Wouldn't they be much better off just putting an ad in the local paper? It is so f'ing irritating to have to wade through 1000 job postings when fewer than half of them will even consider you as a candidate because you aren't local.
