I need to find a good PC for a local business that I can "resell" to them. They will pay me directly so I can charge parts & labor whatever I want.

I saw that both IBuyPower and CyberPowerPC have affordable systems that could make for a good mark-up rate. Any other good places I should look?

What video card do you recommend for a business PC. They won't play games.

Also, what flat panel monitor would you recommend? Any cheap deals going on right now? Thanks!

p.s. their old computer is PII 128MB ram

Darn! I would have just drove over the border to the US to pick one up. But chances are, those rebates are only available to US residents only! :(

I would second the Dell idea....they will probably be happy with a brand name...they are decent quality and cheap (dont forget the price of software)...and, the best part, they can call dell if they have problems....that is, unless you get paid to come out.

Two years ago I wouldn't say this no matter how drunk I got, but today I'd go with E-Machines before I'd go with Dell. Dell's phone support is terrible anymore.

I don't know if the same rules apply in the US as they do in Canada, but if a business leases a computer, it's a full tax write off. I would recommend a Dell business lease.

why not build a system for this company, find out what their looking for in a system and build it to their specs, you can go to pricewatch or other sources to locate the least expensive parts and apply a 15-20% mark up on cost + reselling cost of x = their final cost!

IMHO, I wouldn't dick around with a homebuilt for a business. Been there, done that. It can be a support nightmare if there are reliability problems. You don't make a penny while you're repairing the system that you built. If you put the onus on a company setup for this (ie. Dell), you relieve yourself of the responsibility.

I think that Dell is a better idea because it'll come with window and some other software. Also Dell support would be better than them calling you for everything. Getting windows and everythign will also come into account when makinga computer for a company.
