Yesterday afternoon I was filling up my gas tank at the BP station on Union Tpke (which is a busy road) and the guy at the station was filling a Lincoln Towncar for that cab driver since he parked in the full service island. Both of them look like from Southeast Asia.
Two minutes later I happened to look at that way and saw the cab suddenly accelerated, made a wild turn and ran away. The poor BP guy didn't have a chance to catch the car. He did ran after a few steps and gave up.
This is the first time I saw something like in the movie.

That was retarded on the cab driver's part. There are camers all over the damn place.

Well, if this was an attempt to hurt BP...they really are bad at it since this is really only going to hurt the station operator.

This. Stupid. Does nothing but hurt the local employees of the gas station.

cabbie will probably lose his license to drive a cab since almost all cabs are numbered and most likely will be reported to the cab company.

Well, operator in story did not appear to get any info.
Maybe there was an unknown camera. I hope the guy loses his licence, and if he is like most cab drivers, he's a legal immigrant, which means he could get sent home after he's fired.

This can't happen here anymore. They passed a law that mandates that you have to prepay for your gas before lifting the nozzle. :)

I hate that. How annoying.
There are a few stations around here that mandate that on their own I guess. I just avoid them.

Yeah it's called Grant's Law. A guy was dragged to death by someone trying to pull a drive off. Some time after that they mandated that all gas has to be prepaid. You can either select a dollar amount or I think some places just preapprove for a certain amount (can't remember).
