Loading XP Pro 32 on 2 new sys with raid

I'm building two new systems with similar Gigabyte mother boards only the # of PCI differ. All other features and the chipset are identical.

These are both going to be Raid 1 with 2 drives each.

I have 2 new copies of OEM version Win XP PRO 32 with coupons for Vista.

I've never done an XP installation before so I'm unfamiliar with how MS keeps track
of installations and licensing.

Is it possible to build one basic system and then clone the drives for the other or
am I just going to run a foul of the licensing scheme?

I will be using Acronis True Image workstation 9.1
I do know that they have features for handling hardware changes but I'm unsure if this
is available in the workstation version without additional products.

I also have PC Relocator for moving some of the applications.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'd say you can just install on one system and then clone to the other computer. The only thing you'll need to do on the 2nd system is trigger reactivation and change the CD key to your 2nd copy of WinXP OEM. After you make sure both boxes are using different keys, then and only then would I activate them.

So there's not something on each CD that only allows for that key to be used with that CD? i.e., The cloned copy will contain everything from the 1st copy and that won't cause a problem when I try to activate it with the key from the second copy?

If your XP Pro requires activation, I predict a clone version will not work on another like computer. It will ID it as a different machine.. In any case, you will probably have to reactivate with the other key ID.
