ok, I just built my first comp and need some help getting an old win2k cd loaded. first off I'm using an asus k8v deluxe with a raptor sata HD (only hd) that i pluged into the sata_raid 1 connector, enabled the promise controller and set it to IDE since its the only hdd I'm using. so my hd is recognized. Now I'm trying to get w2k loaded (never loaded windows on a fresh comp so I know nothing of bootdisks which I'm assumeing I need to use in order to get this thing loaded) I tryed changing the boot priority so my cd-rom was first in hopes it would do somthing but i keep getting the insert a bootable disk or somthing message. So the question is, do I need to make a boot disk and if so how and what kind? does the boot disk take me to the command prompt and alow me to access the win cd and what command do I type to get windows loaded (like setup.exe or somthing)? sorry fi this is reall noob but I tryed searching the forums and all I got was more confused :/

A windows 2000 cd is natively bootable if that answers your question. You can try making a bootdisk from bootdisk.com
