Loading new bios under Win XP-help

I've never updated bios under win xp or any other for that matter, ive read how to do this but it says to do it under dos and there is no dos on xp. So how do i do this? Thanks

The way I do it, is to boot from a boot disk created from Win98. I insert a blank floppy, click format and choose to copy system files. Copy the files to the floppy that you need to do your BIOS flash.

Boot from that disk in XP and you are all set.

Others will have different methods. :)

save this file to your HD. put a empty floppy disk in the drive. double click on the downloaded file. you will get a boot disk.
put the flash program and the bios file on it. reboot. make sure your bios is set to boot from A: .

if the new bios doesn't fix a problem you're presently experiencing then forget about doing it for now as a bad flash can hose your system!

The only reason im flahing the bios is im going to upgrade the processor from a 1gtbird to an xp1800. Yes my motherboard supports it ive already checked. im stoked!!:)
