I was poking around on Ebay and found a 'load balancer' that is very cheap. It has regular specs and all, is there any reason I couldn't use it as a basic server or something of that nature? Just wanted to make sure I wasnt missing something. here are the specs:

Intel Pentium III 450 MHz Processor with 512 Cache
512 MB RAM (2 - Viking PC100 PC100-222-622R)
Seagate ST310212A 10 GB Hard Drive
(4) PCI 10/100 Network Interface Cards
ATI Rage IIC AGP Video Card (P/N: 109-49300-01)
WDOG Card
Asus P3B-F Motherboard
CD-ROM Drive
Floppy Drive
(2) USB Ports
Key for Front Panel Lock
Power Cord

sounds like a PC to me.

thanks,
-doug

probably had linux installed on it to route traffic in and out using all those NICs

take out 3 of the NICs and you have a decent PC
