update to the FS Tualatin review

UPDATE: We've learned that Powerleap plans to manufacture an FC-PGA to FC-PGA2 adapter for Tualatin support on older motherboards that don't support VRM 8.5 and Tualatin's GTL bus. This adapter is tentatively named the "Neo+". If you recall, Powerleap is the same company that manufactured PPGA to FC-PGA converters for use on older PPGA motherboards such as the famous ABIT BP6 (ABIT's 440BX-based dual CPU motherboard). A shipping date on the upcoming Neo+ converter hasn't been announced, but more information can be found in this thread on Powerleap's discussion forums.

Unless the price of those desktop Tualatins drop, I'm still going AMD with my next upgrade. Intel is way overpricing those chips considering you can get higher clock P4's and Athlons for less.

I can, resistance.

Each time do a contact connection it will increase resistance, possibly enough to "break" the CPU. So it might work, it might not...

Gotta admit, I would love to see a BX board running a cpu ~ 1.4-1.5 ghz :Q

I suppose this has some limited value, but I'd expect a 1.2GHz Tualatin/adapter combo would come in around at least $225-250. That money buys a 1.4GHz Athlon plus a basic ECS/SiS 735 board that supports both SDR and DDR SDRAM. Even if you've got dualies, the new Tyan basic dual board plus dual Athlons wouldn't be much more expensive than two Tualatin/adapter combos. If you sell the old rig, the Athlons would be cheaper.
