LN52A650--backlight bleed.

Now I know LCD's have backlight bleed, but this just seems a little extreme: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=282mdu8&s=6

I've had one tech, named Sergi K. come over twice. He's from Paul's TV's, located in Chatsworth. He said it's normal, I believe that, but to an extent. In other words, I'd beg to differ. I can possibly get another (different) tech out here from Santa Monica, if they're willing. If I do, I'm hoping to persuade him to either replace the panel, or more hopefully, replace the whole damn unit.

(It's been a though year of calling Samsung over and over again).

If the unit gets replaced I'd likely get a different model, probably the LN55B650, or LN52B750. The reason for this being that the LN52A650 has been discontinued. Now I don't want to sound greedy, but how can I resist the possibility of getting a newer TV. :sneaky:

Please give me your thoughts on this problem, and soon please, warranty expires in a month.

all LCDS have that bleeding problem that leads to uniformity issues....you are going to have the same issue with the b series, which lots people are still complaining about.

I had an issue with my LN52B750 when I first got it. Lighter spots on the screen all over the place. After reading quite a few forum threads on the issue, I came across one that recommended gently applying pressure all over the screen while on and warm. I used the cleaning pad I had bought from monoprice to this. To my surprise it worked. The panel went completely uniform. Could be coincidence, but it's worth a try.

I've tried that, I haven't really tried it warmed up. I'll give it another shot.

I'm gonna go ahead and just see what the other tech thinks, If I can get it replaced at least somethings different, and I haven't wasted 4-5 months of calling Samsung. And if I can get a B series, I'd rather have bleeding on that than an older model.

That doesnt look that bad to me. I seen much worst. I doubt you will get anything out of this. You should go for plasma or local dimming lcd if light bleed bother you so much.

Well thanks for the response guys. I've talked to executive service, and sent photos of the problem. I'll be receiving a call in the next 24-48 hours from the Samsung dispatch center looking for other service centers in my area. I'll see where it goes from there.

Again, thank.
