My work connection was damn fast, like T1+ speeds last time I checked. Of course I haven't been able to check since the filtering system went in. I imagine with the proxy it goes through the speed isn't that great anymore.

We used to have ISDN until about a year and a half ago at work. It was so damn frustrating because surfing the web was at a snails pace then I would go home with my cable modem and have much, much faster speeds. Finally they got their asses in gear and we have a pretty good connection but my RoadRunner is still faster!

sucks for you ;)

I have a backbone connection at work. I can download 23 megs worth of patches from Microsoft in under 30 seconds.

We tried to tell our new A-hole director that too.

We should play a practical joke on him that "spontaneously" goes awry.

I'm with you there. Any great ideas. We played with the idea to set him up with all kinds of pr0n junk mail but we figured it could be traced back to us.
Hire someone to key his car every 6 weeks or so. Just enough gap for him to get it back and then keyed again.
