<< I think the tech hit "n" instead of "b". Did I miss something? >>

Oh now I get it.
I'm so used to decoding all the typos I see that I only bother to "notice" really odd ones today, like in our sandwich thread when someone said they would "ass some bacon."

LOL, you got the "I-don't-know-jack-about-your-problem-so-I-don't-want-to-talk-to-you" tech support brush-off.

My advice, if you are on dial-up, is to just get a new ISP.
IMHO, MSN is barely better than AOL.

She should have atleast been upfront with you saying that she didn't know. she could have run off to ask someone or find a supervisor to inform her. What happens when the next person asks? She'll still be clueless.

...don't chat with MSN techs.

...get a T1 ;)

I use Gamespy and I am behind a hardware firewall (cable). It works fine. You just need to open ports 6500 and 6800 on the router to host games. I still get that message. Just ignore it.

Are you using Zonealarm?

Man, I tried to get MSN DSL service but these guys are a bunch of retards that don't seem to talk to each other. I waited ONE MONTH, and they hadn't even got the ball rolling! :| FREAKIN' PISSED ME OFF! I called them just about EVERY week and they assured me everything was going to get taken care of. But did it? NO! I had to do the foot work calling one department after another. And when I did open up a ticket, they couldn't find it after I called back a week later to check on the status of that ticket. Opened up another one, same thing happened. :| :| :| I swear to God, you could get a couple of monkeys to do a better job other there. I mean this is MICROSOFT for God's sake, not some mom and pop ISP! WTF?!!! I've beeen without DSL for at least 2 months now and I'm about to crack. I went back to my old DSL provider which I left because I had problems with them, but after dealing with MSN, it is a dream come true to be able to go back. Hopefully my line will kick in at about midnight tonight. Anyway, rant ended. :|
