I requested an advance RMA from Maxtor for a HD last week, and just got updated on the tracking status... As usual, Maxtor shipped it second day air, but there's one problem: I live about an hour from the Maxtor warehouse! Check out the tracking info:

Feb 26, 2002 5:46 P.M. US BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED
Feb 26, 2002 8:46 P.M. DALLAS-FT WORTH, TX, US LEFT IN A UPS FACILITY, DELAYED;FORWARDED TO DESTINATION

LMAO! They started to ship the thing, then suddenly realized, "Hey, waitaminute..." 😀 😀

Only thing is, since it shipped second day air they're gonna hold the damn thing until Thursday to deliver... 🙁

I've seen some crazy things happen with shipping, the packages have to go to certain places sometimes even well off course ..... i was shocked once when i saw a tracking chart where my package had gone.... weird.

<< the last thing I got thru FEDEX went thru france 😕

wtf? I live in arizona and the package was from cali.

WTF?? AHAHHAHAHAHA😀

<< gotta love how the UPS guy just kicks a box into the elevator doorway to keep it open, saw this today 😀 >>

LOL. I always thought the first one was better than the second, but it was still good though. You should see how real UPS guys treat em

hehehehehe........I'm a loader for UPS (Under Paid Slaves), and let me tell ya.....if you saw some of the sh!t that goes on in a package sort, you would NEVER EVER send another packages through UPS.

And you think Fedex employs people called Jeeves and make them wear white gloves to handle their packages? 😀

The USPS isn't much more efficient either. When we needed to get our mail forwarded to our new address because we moved, it took over 2 weeks to get our mail, even if it was sent from someone in our city! :Q

The reason is all forwared mail in SoCal must go to a San Diego facility to be sorted and then returned to the destination post office! Stupid!

nah man, I thought 9 days took a little long for a 300 mile delivery 😕

LOL nah man I noticed on like the third day it was in transit to paris - lol

I called em and they sent UBER FAST back to me. 5 days total transit

dude, they wont hold it till thursday. you'll get it tomorrow.

see, delivery time is based on distance. i live in FL, all in state shipments, next day air, 2nd day air, ANY LEVEL OF SERVICE, gets next day delivery. 2nd day air dosent always mean 2 day delivery. for a good part of the southeastern US, my 2nd day air shipments are recieved overninght.

the center probly just pulled the package off the line on the pre-load and loaded it on the appropriate drivers route already.

Actually, it's scheduled for delivery on the 28th, but hopefully it'll show up tomorrow though... 🙂

Dave

scheduled is exactly that: scheduled.

transit time for anything travelling intrastate via UPS ground is generally one day. 2nd day air is $5 more, and still travels 100% by truck

UPS majorly screws up about 1 out of 10 things for me. They recently "lost" a LCD monitor I ordered.

I used to work for a company that shipped out extremely important packages every day using UPS overnight. More than one they misplaced critical packages that HAD to be there the next day. These packages were about 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide. Whoops! Where'd it go?

<< ........which is why i insure for $900 ($1000 trips the control logs) >>

That's why I insure things for $1000 🙂

i ordered 2 of those humvees from amazon a while back and when they shipped it, the csr told me that one was coming 2nd day and the other was going ground. funny part is that ups tracking showed that the 2nd day package did arrive at the hub on time. i waited and no one comes to my house. i call ups and they verify that it's at the hub and should be delivered tomorrow and if not then call back. next day same story. i call back and they don't seem to know where it could be. so after 3 more days, my other shipment comes. when i open the door, the guy has both humvees. he wasn't sure what happened. so my question is, what really arrived 2nd day to the hub if it wasn't my order? 😕

I worked for a company that did contract work for UPS around Christmas time when they were really busy. We once flew a damn barrel all over the country. UPS kept repositioning us where they thought we might be needed. Eventually they off loaded the barrel, but I think we probably used up about 120,000 pounds of fuel before it was taken off. They sure blow some money some times... but they do have the cash to burn.
