I thought Shallow Hal was one of the most boring movies I had ever seen.

What is "cankles?"

Something to do with fat ankles? (read the reference to the pregnant woman)

You're laughing now, but I bet there's a scene that put a tear in your eye - it did mine and I got my girlfriend on that bet.

I thought it was incredibly good considering it was a Faralley(sp?) brothers movie. They took an idea that had "Fat Joke" written all over it and wrote in at least some semblance of a story.

The park scene with the girl on the bike, you can totally see her nipples through her thin blue shirt.

I read somewhere that Gwyneth Paltrow went around in the fatsuit she used in filming Shallow Hal and was horrified by the way people treated her. Maybe it was on IMDB.

I don't think so, I've heard/used it before the movie came out. No doubt though that the movie popularized the slang term.

I haven't been able to sit through more than five minutes of it-it seems so trite and predictable. Maybe I'll give it another try-FX (like all networks these days) seems to rerun the same 2 or 3 movies nearly constantly for a couple of days.

Anyone catch any of the fund raiser movies on PBS? There has been some really good ones (Touching the Void, the Clapton guitar festival one and Alone in the Wilderness) if you can stomach the fund raising breaks.

Good lord, I had to watch this movie for a morality class at my high school (Jesuit institution). (stupid teacher. She wasn't a bad person, but nobody could accuse her of intelligence.)

Sweet jeebus, this was quite possibly one of the worst films ever made. Only thing that made it bearable was I was watchin' with some buddies of mine and we put it on 2x speed and mute, and made up our own dialouge.

ugh.
