Yeah, he seems to say that it can be a useful tool if you know how to use it. So it's useful for lowering what you have to set your vcore to, or am i misunderstanding it?

Yes. The harmonic oscillations are more or less not an issue. There are a ton of bypass capacitors next to the CPU for that very reason. This is in my opinion, obviously others disagree.

In fact, I found that the Vcore is much more stable with LLC ON. Hence, there will be almost no voltage oscillations and so you don't need to worry about the peak voltages at all.

Run OCCT for an hour with LLC on and off and then inspect the Vcore graph generated at the end of the test if you don't trust me.

I do not understand this. people use it because it keeps the vcore more stable yet the side effect is more spiking? I have been trying to learn a bit about this and seems to me the vast majority of users and sites say not to enable it.

Actually, you will have much more spikes with LLC OFF.

Proof: Run OCCT for 1 hour and will you get the proof from the Vcore graph generated at the end of it.

I can't say that I am 100% correct, but I am, BASED on the test done by me.

then why is that listed as a side effect of enabling LLC?

debate can be good for those like me that want to hear both sides of the story though. a lot of the threads and articles I have looked at are relativity dated so a fresh debate isnt necessarily bad. of course I can understand that some of you guys have heard it a million times though.

While OCCT is a fine benchmarking program, I doubt you would be able to see the effects of LLC under its graph. First off its software, so its already guessing the voltages and second LLC happens extremely fast, so unless OCCT has microsecond resolutions you couldn't see it.

This being said, ive never used OCCT, but I do know software can only guess the voltage. I personally do not have enough knowledge in the subject, but in order for us to start making way on this endless debate, we are going to need someone to measure voltages by hand with something that can log voltage in miliseconds, and have someone who designs processors for a living to chime in.

I feel by the time we find out whether the usage of LLC was a good or a bad thing, the option to change it will have been taken from BIOS and set automatically as this has caused sooo much confusion since the 45nm chips became available.
