Llano or Sandy Bridge?

I'm looking to pickup a laptop for light gaming (League of Legends and TF2), and interested in the new AMD and Intel platform with an integrated CPU/GPU.

Mainly interested in low heat and power requirements. Too many laptops (even slow ones) are very hot.. and I predict even Llano and SB will be a fireball when used for gaming so that's where I'm setting my limit on speed.

I believe the 1st iteration of SB will be DX10.1 and Llano is DX11. I see little reason to go with a 10.1 solution with AMD offering 11. But the CPU should be faster on the Intel solution, but the AMD should be fast enough for my uses. So whichever is released first is what I'll probably go with. I'd like one in a 14" 720P laptop...

Anyone heard any rumors when these will be released?

Early next year, with Llano probably being out a bit sooner. Makes sense, have to clear out the soon to be obsolete inventory during the holiday season.

Doh, was thinking of Ontario/Zacate. Those will be out first couple of months of 2011. I have some high hopes for the 11-13 inch budget notebook.

Sandy Bridge it shall be then. I think it's coming Q1 2010, I need something sooner rather than later.. waiting for these is asking enough. Unfortunately the second iteration of SB is DX11.. which would be nice.. but I'm going for low power/heat and I don't think in Q1 anything else will come close to matching SB at the $500 pricepoint.

Llano is bit further off than Sandy Bridge, but I wouldn't be sure about the exact date. My guess from news is that they'll release it at April/May which will put wide availability of systems at summer.

Sandy Bridge desktop and mobile SV parts have a release date of Jan 9, 2011, but maybe it'll take a bit to actually buy a laptop based on one.

I'm pretty sure top Sandy Bridge chip will rival Llano in graphics performance, but you probably won't get that on a $500 laptop.

Llano is simply too delayed already. It just simply doesn't fit well in between Bobcat and Bulldozer. A scaled up Bobcat or a BD Fusion APU makes more sense to AMD; I'll bet Llano will be just a stopgap measure from AMD til then.
