Like many of you, I have been following the llano laptops hoping for an A6/A8 on a 13.3 size or smaller (An A4 on 12.1 might be a compromise)

However, looking hard at all the manufacturers, the smallest I see is the Toshibas 14", and the specs are not exactly to impressive.

Am I right that no decent llano machine on 13.3" or smaller is available?

I've been looking.

The Toshiba L745D series is 5 pounds, and the P745D is 5.4 pounds. Looks as if the A6 is the best available APU in these.

Lenovo just came out with one (Thinkpad Edge E425) that is a 4.85 pound 14" but only comes with the A4.

I am disappoint.

Thanks! I think you found my next machine! 13.3" would have been better, but the lenovo (E425) looks very good. eSata and expresscard are a rare commodity now. On their PDf they mention up to A8, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for the A6/A8 to be an option ;)

Weight is not an issue. My work laptop is an HP elitebook 8540w, and I am so used to the weight of the machine and the monster adapter (150W) that when I have only the machine in my backpack, quite often I have to double check that I am not forgetting the laptop ;)

I too have been waiting MONTHS for exactly this. I would love to support amd at least in the mobile market, since obviously their desktop parts are struggling...but it seems I can't even do that. I refuse to go to a 14 inch, in fact I'd rather have 11.6 or 12 inch really. Looks like my next laptop will be something like a asus u-31 with a core i3

I'm curious about this as well. I don't need the thin-as-ultrabook part, just would like something under 3.5lbs, and 11-13" Doesn't need a built in DVD either. But it seems everyone is more willing to buy cheap 15.6" laptops =/

The more I look around, the more attractive the thinkpad edge 425 looks. I got the hardware service manual and the A6 and A8 are listed as parts :)

The HP Probook 6465b (14") looks fine on paper, but at $800 for a prebuilt A6 is expensive. Furthermore, customize your own is horribly overpriced (>1k). I am just waiting for the thinkpad edge to offer the A6/A8, which strangely, are not offered on the edge 525 yet either... supply issues?

Wait and see.
