Living Together?

I was just reading through another post and it got me thinking. I am about ready to have my girlfriend of two years move in with me. I heard alot of negative reaction to this, but I don't see how it can be such a bad thing?

I mean she was finishing up school in a different state and I have already moved to Florida to start law school, so there aren't a whole lot of options as far as that goes and why would we need to have two seperate apartments and waste all of that money when we both know we will be over here 7 days a week?

I think i'd rather know if we were compatible in a living situation before we get married rather than have a divorce on my hands 2 years from now?

Thoughts?

Are you in that much of a hurry to get married to her? If yes - try it out. If no - don't let her move in to stay.

Like I said in the other thread to the guy who said you shouldn't live together without marriage: How do you have any idea whether you're compatible with someone (sexually and otherwise), unless you have the opportunity to live with them for a while? Would you buy a car without test driving it first?

That guy has been brainwashed by way too much overly moralistic pseudo-religious propaganda.

No No No...you have the wrong idea. I've been with this girl for well over 2 years. We spent 1.5 years together at our previous university and then I HAD to move to Florida to go to law school. I did that becasue that is what I wanted to do, also because I wanted to see if our relationship could endure the distance without me getting anxious and going after some other ladies.

I think this entire semester has only made our relationship stronger. We practiacally lived together for a year and half before this. The biggest thing the both of us were concerned about was the way our parents would react but they seem to be all for it - besides I'm already searching for an engagement ring but that is an entirely different story.

Buck, neither of you are in H.S. anymore. Your post speaks alot of maturity. Frankly, I think you already know the answer. If you really feel this, then go for it. If you ask enough people, the naysayers will always come. Follow your heart and desires...they're normally right. :D

May you have a healthy and prosperous life...oh, and don't forget to be happy. :)

Reading that other thread got me all nervous, like these kinds of things never work out!

Sure. Totally understandable. The reason those things never work out, is because someone always lets someone else be the jury.
Stop! Live your life for you and your mate. Nobody is more intune to your relationship than you and her. Frankly, those are the only two opinions that count....screw everyone else. Got it? Good! :D

The only people I've ever heard making an argument against living with you girlfriend are religious wierdos who think it's "sinful" or something equally stupid. In the case of sane people, it just depends on how well you two get along.
