Living alone and hating it

I am taking a summer physics class and I am living by myself in an apartment. I hate it. I can't wait until the fall when I have some roommates in a HOUSE. Living alone sucks, apartments suck, and summer classes suck. Does anyone enjoy living alone? What do you like about it?

Dont have any friends that are taking summer classes as well? You should try to get to know some of the people who are also taking classes, they're probably lonely as well

I have been living alone for 2 years now. Whats even worse is that I am no longer a student = not too many people to meet once I am home. Dont worry, you will live.

Somebody should make a poll. My guess is that the majority of OTers are either living alone, in dorms or with their mommies and daddies.

I live alone 2 out of 7 nights a week... bought a house with my fiancee. It's a great situation.

OMG...WTF...BBQ....!!!!11111...Watermelon and all that crap.

I'm 36, live alone and LOVE it. I have had male roommates. Female roommates. Female fiancee roommates, and in the end: it ALL sucked. 😛

Most men are pigs. Women are too...moreso in the bathroom than men!!! Women whine too much. Men leave dirty underwear on the coffee table in the living room. I hate them all.

I am Felix Unger in a younger chassis. Everything must be sterile, neat and orderly. I can tell you where every single thing in my 1200 SF apartment is. Down to the last paper clip or sock. That's the way I like it and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I tell you...here's an embarassing fact about me. When I'm in a really bad mood, when I walk thru my front door, I slam it and yell:

Honey!!! I'm home!!!!!

Then I chuckle and mutter aloud:

Oh, that's right; I'm not so encumbered.

And that makes me feel so much better. I remember the bitter days of unsuccessful cohabitation. Most of the time, it sucked fly-infested, smelly donkey ass. The easy access to female companionship was great....when she was in the mood to put out.

Enjoy your time alone!!! Odds are you will marry...and then you'll long for these days of solitude. Right now I'm posting on AT and am reheating this past weekends' BBQ in the nuker....and nobody is bitching about anything.

Life is Good.

I lived alone for a year and hated it. Somethings are nice like the peace and quiet when you want to study and do work but sometimes its just -too- quiet and lonely. I'm not a big socializer but its nice to have a few people around your house or apartment.

My suggestion would be to get a job or occupy yourself 😉 Its more fun that way.

When I want to spend a couple of hours perusing AT forums or purchasing new PC hardware, I wish I lived alone... lol... my wife walks into my office and says, "You chatting with those geek friends of yours again!?!?"... sigh, she'll just never understand.

I live alone. For the summer. And I frequently walk around the apartment nekkid. 😀

That is why I like it.

Maybe the original poster needs to walk around his apartment nekkid? What's holding him back?

. . . wuss. 😀

Living alone is great. So what if you are social by nature? That's why you have guys over your house for beer & pretzels & games over the weekend (watching sports, PC or console games, manches, whatever).

And the great thing? They LEAVE afterwards!

You can always go out - last I checked, almost every town in America has at least ONE bar, and many have more than one (which increases the odds there is at least one GOOD one, then!). Hobby shops in the area may run pen-and-paper games, get into community sports, some other hobby....

Join a biking or hiking or kayaking club....take martial arts classes....take ANY college classes....

There is a LOT you can do to keep yourself around people and socializing...and...living along....the best thing is that you can come home AWAY from it all when you want. Feeling tired of dealing with a certain person in one of the clubs/classes/whatever? Skip a few days, hell, stop going if they really annoy. Can't do that once you are married.

Living alone rocks, enjoy it while you can.

There may not have ever been a more true statement made on this forum.

After living with 3 girl for 4 years, I love living alone. I can stay up as late as I want, sleep when I want, eat when I want, go to the bathroom when I want, bascially do anything when I want to without having to bother or annoy anyone. Plus girls can get PMSy over the littliest things. Living with people you always have to keep your guard up. You have to make sure you're being considerate, fair, courteous, blah, blah! Plus there are rules ... when you can do this and that, who does what chores, who pays this bill, when quiet time is.

Enjoy it while you have it.

This man speaks the truth.

Living alone rules. My home stays cleaner, I can have whatever pets I want, and I can come home as late as I want and no one will care.

Wait that's like moving out from home.

I would love to live alone. Or at least have my own room for a lengthy period of time. 1990 was the last time I had a bedroom to myself... the next time was for 3 months over summer last year. I have yet to really live alone tho... I wish I had an apartment or house to myself...
