Moving soon and the Apt I really, reaaaaly like is a 2 bedroom in Boston. Hardwood floors, nice neighborhood. Nice. But, the prospective landlord told me it is not deleaded. I have no kids, so that isn't a concern and there is not chipping or peeling paint.

What do you think? Ever live in a apt like this? Should I be terribly concerned. I don't plan on eating the paint or licking the walls.

Just get yourself one of those tap water filter things. My brother lives in a similar apartment, and it's a good idea to get a filter. Just in case.

Seriously? This doesn't even warrant a thread. In just about every major urban area, there's going to be lead based paint in almost every house. Here in Arlington VA, just about every SFH was built before the 70's when they stopped using it, so every place has it. We didn't get a seller disclosure on it when we bought it, but we're just operating under the assumption that it's there. It won't kill you. If the paint is chipping, clean it up, but it's probably buried under at least a few layers of paint.

If you remodel, yeah the dust can be an issue. However, ventilating and masking off rooms that aren't being worked on does the trick.

My house is 100 years old, damn sure it hasn't been deleaded. I think I turned out fine... right;)?

Just don't sand the walls if you repaint, and don't eat the paint. We did all of these for months at a time, live-in renovations while I was a kid. Maybe you should get back to me in 10 years.
