Live-View use and shutter life

When you enter live view mode, the shutter has to open to allow light onto the sensor...but when you actually take a picture, does the shutter close and re-open for the live preview of the next shot? In other words, are there actually 2 shutter actuations for every shot taken in LV mode?

Just curious, since I actually use the live view on my 40D quite a bit for delicate manual focusing.

Yes, I think there has to be multiple shutter actuations because there's no electronic shutter, only a mechanical one. Shutter stays open for live view, shutter closes, shutter opens for X shutter speed seconds, shutter closes, shutter opens back up for live view.
