lglive-0.9.7
I installed it on a usb hard disk. It does not load. I see two folders, lglive and syslinux, and no other files on root. Is it possible to boot like that? It seems the boot files are in syslinux folder. I end up with a cusror on the top left of the screen.

Also , can it be installed on a hard disk? I see no reason why not. The site does not mention a hard disk install but says that 'it can be booted from a dvd or usb drive'.

How did you write the drive? I like unetbootin for that kind of thing.

Edit:
I just read the FAQ where they said unetbootin won't work. Did you do this?

On Linux, you can use dd if=/path/to/lglive.iso of=/dev/your-flash-drive bs=32M for writing to the USB flash drive. For example: dd if=./lglive-0.9.7-i686-hybrid-big.iso of=/dev/sdc bs=32M. Be very careful with dd.

Yes, as you wrote. It's a quote from their download page. I wrote the distribution on an external usb hard disk and an internal disk (on a partition).

After some more reading from their site, they actually say it can be written on an internal disk too, and that you can make another partition for the game settings. In case you do that make a partition no more than 5GB. GParted lists it as an unknown file system and parted does not understand it either.

Edit
blkid lists the file system as udf.
Edit

Still i haven't found out how it can boot since there are no root files.
