I'm looking forward to it too...but it looks like they went a little too over the top. The original Die Hard and Die Hard 2 were great because you felt like the hero really was just a regular guy/cop who got caught up in things. The stuff in that trailer is over the top super hero type stuff. I'll still watch it...especially because Maggie Q is going to be in it and I've had a hard-on for her since MI:3.

In the past few years, aging police officer John McClane (Bruce Willis) has spent his time in and out of Alcoholics Anonymous and is divorced from his wife. He is no longer employed by the police department, but has found a position with the United States Department of Homeland Security chasing dangerous computer hackers.

wtf??? Too bad John McTiernan is facing jail time (according to wikipedia at least). Sounds like a story for 24 or something.

Probable order of Die Hard Goodness:

Die Hard>Die Hard With A Vengeance>Live Free or Die Hard>Die Hard 2 (Never could watch this one all the way through)

I agree, too many special effects and such. I just want to see him punch a guy in the face and say something funny.

Because it's hard to get someone who isn't the prettyboy limpwrist interior designer type but rather who uses unix and is generously obese to appeal to a target audience.

Edit: forgot to mention neckbeards!

It looks like it might just be over the top enough to avoid that horrible over the top problem. Once you pass the point of ridiculous, things get fun.

I feel the same way. It looks too over the top, too hero like. I enjoyed the simplicity of the older Die Hards. Plus, the acting just doesnt feel like John McClane, and he is bald too which kinda ruins it too. But, Im still going to see it, cant miss a Die Hard movie.

as the # of sequel's rack up, the story line follows the 'Deus ex machina' path.

'improbable character, device, or event introduced in a work of fiction or drama to resolve a situation '

look at the Bond movie's played by Pierce Brosnan.

So true; by Die another Day, it was just ridiculous.

This sounds bad. The only thing that can save it is if they write Carl Winslow into it. For the fans.

You doubly screwed up...you were suppose to choose one, not do both.

Well, can't fix it now. I died. At least I was free.
