live drive won't work, HELP !!!

I just installed a brand new SB live platinum
everything works fine from the card but ABSOLUTE silence from the live drive.
Cable's are as they should be. Power y cable used between supply and CDRw drive

system PI 233
abit pr5 b
a open 40 cd
plextor 8x4x32 ide
quantum 2G hd

any sugestions???
 
so, what OS, and did you install the programs? and using latest drivers for your OS? and make sure you plugged in everything right. the ribbon cable goes to your sound card.
 
cable goes from sound card to livedrive they are idiot proof btw you can only put them on in one direction. And I didn't mistake them for ide cable
software is installed
os is win 95

I'll check for new drivers though
