I had zero interest in the game...thinking it just another shooter where you control movement with the left stick and shooting with the right stick....until I heard yesterday that it had the RPG elements in it. I'm going to have to at least give the trial version I try now to see how that turns out.

Rocketmen is AWFUL. I had some hopes for this game thinking it could be a fun Cannon Spike (also by capcom)/Smash TV co-op game but it stinks. The forced scrolling alone ruins the game.

I'm a baseball man so I'll probably just get 2K8 but I'm having a tough time with the new pitching mechanics in the demo.

Well, I'm back to having zero interest in the game now. :p

edit: GameTrailers Video - Looks like some levels have forced scrolling while others don't.

I'm waffling. I'm going to give it a try tonight with my son when I get home tonight.

TXB gave Rocketmen a 4/10.

Negatives:
- RPG-lite stat boosting seems to have no affect
- Controls (having to pick up items with the A button)
- Can't backtrack (forced scrolling)

Positives:
- Co-op

The new mechanics in MLB2k8 sound interesting and worth a try of the demo at least, but what I'm most hoping for is realistic atmosphere, not just in the stadium, but from the players and teams themselves. By now sports games should be able to capture the excitement of end-game heroics, exciting moments, or emptying stadiums when the home team is losing. And when I win the world series, I want to see and hear the excitement on the players and announcers. If I'm throwing a no-hitter, or looking to hit for the cycle, the announcers should be that much more animated. I don't know exactly how to express it, but I think people understand what I'm talking about.
