ugh, i hate how there's so much animation on the search page. when i go back or forward after making searches, that "loading" little animation pops up. it's like flash for the sake of flash (i think it's javascript, btw).

It has a bunch of other crap on the main page, and uses some flash-like stuff for everything. Particularly the "scroll bar" in the results so my mouse wheel doesn't work, plus I can't middle click and open the links in a new tab.

exactly. it takes google's simplicity and turns it around 180 degrees.

with a search engine i could give a rat's ass how fancy it is....as long as it does a good job. if MS's search engine is better than Google's, i'm dumping google in a heartbeat. but if MS insists on making it like the Live beta, fat chance.

I still don't know what the heck you guys are talking about... what flash-like stuff? You mean things like being able to move the window or the toolbar window (the thing with mail, messenger, safety center, etc)? I don't see any flash on a search... it's completely text... even the ads on the side are a duplicate of Google and completely text. The scroll bar sucks though, mine gets stuck... but my scroll wheel works without any problems. I can't middle click to open a window though.

I never used the search anyways... this was like my first time just because i was curious as to what you're talking about. Personally, i like it. Very minimalist to me.
