live! / audigy flavors...

I'm sure it's been posted before, but I've never actually fully understood what the complete differences between all the different flavors of Live! soundcards are. Since the Audigys are coming out now, and I'm planning to upgrade to one of them in the near future, I thought it would be really helpful to know the difference between all the different flavors (Value/MP3/X-Gamer/Platinum). The only think I know about being different is the Platinum having the Live! DRive and remote (my friend has one). Can someone either explain the differences or point me in the direction of a quality article contrasting them? Thanks a million...

I haven't seen an Audigy Value yet, but they'll probably have an OEM version (bare card)...

Anyways, all the cards are the same except for the software bundles. X-Gamer comes with games, MP3 comes with music software, etc. Also, the Platinum comes with the Live drive, while the Platinum EX comes with the external box (same thing as Live drive, but external).

i hope i get this right....

In terms of SBLive!:

Value: Card and drivers, with only basic extras
X-Gamer: Card and drivers, with a few games and some extra game-based programs
MP3: Card and drivers, with extra programs geared toward making/ripping/modifying/listening to mp3s
Platinum: Card, drivers, and a Live!Drive (an external breakout box which you can plug lots of stuff into - speakers, digital speaker stuff, 2 usb ports i think), with some extra programs

those are the main differences

so... if i've got this right... assuming i don't give a flip about bundled software... my two choices are value and platinum (i will not be going for the platinum ex)... uhm... i hope creative didn't charge a higher price for either the MP3 or the X-Gamer (over one another)

platinum comes with lots of bundled software.

OEM means bare card.

Audigy xgamer and mp3+ cost $100 retial (can find cheaper on the internet)
audigy platnuim is $200 retail
audigy platnuim EX is $250 retial

btw

the retail ones for the audigy (mp3, xgamer, plat, plat ex) all have gold connectors on back of the sound card. makes it little harder to connect sound cards since its not colored cordinated and stuff

the OEM one is colored tho

here is a pic from newegg.com that shows the OEM
