Looks like they didn't upgrade the graphics much for Tron from the old 80s arcade classic.

REZ and a remade Lode Runner are also supposed to be on the way soon. Video

No, no word yet on what MS is going to do about the free XBLA game. No, no word yet on what the problems with Live are or when they'll be fixed. Pretty much all of the MS bloggers are at CES right now.

edit: Goldeneye is rumored to be coming to XBLA too.

Resting their cred on "very reliable sources" and evidence that they claim to have seen, Xbox Evolved is reporting that Nintendo 64 classic Goldeneye will be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade shortly before Activision (the current 007 IP holder) releases their new James Bond title. The news comes (according to the site) after an agreement between Microsoft, Rareware, MGM Studios and Activision. XE says the game will feature new graphics and online multiplayer, and that other Rare games may be in the pipeline like Banjo Kazooie and Perfect Dark.

OK, sounds great, but is it true? We have no evidence one way or the other, but we think it would at least make sense for all the parties. Microsoft gets more solid XBLA titles, Rare (which is owned by Microsoft) reminds people of the company's glory days and MGM gets more publicity for James Bond. As for Activision, well, we already know they're not above pimping out a license for cash. We'll keep you updated.

Do these types of downloads even work with all the current Live problems? It would be a cold day in hell before I give MS anymore money until they fix Live, but are those who want to buy it able to?

But damn do I hope the Goldeneye rumor is true..

Yeah, I think the live problems are primarily with matchmaking/game play than downloading content.

Awesome, I used to play Lode Runner on the original Macintosh all the time when I was a kid. It even had a level editor. I might actually buy that.

Goldeneye!? :Q I so hope this is true, because it would rule! Perfect Dark would also be a great addition. I used to play these with friends for hours and hours. Endless entertainment.

The Tron game reminded me of one of my favorite Tron games of all time Disks of Tron.

I wish they would release that game--man, so fun.

The latest update to the ESRB listings has revealed that Disney Interactive plans to release Discs of Tron on Xbox Live Arcade.

Discs of Tron is based on the short sequence in the movie where Flynn beats Sark's army of evil crimson programs. The goal is to exchange disc blows until Sark is knocked off his three platforms while at the same time dodging or deflecting his discs.

Doesn't Steam have a game like that? I can't remember what it's called...

EDIT: Richochet. All I remember is that it sucked and I didn't like it. Not sure how similar it is to Discs of Tron, though.

Omega Five is pretty darn good. I haven't played a shmup in what seems like forever so this game is a breath of fresh air. Only 4 stages but they are each fairly long and the gameplay feels a bit different with each character. Plus there are lots of unlockables (characters, challenges..etc) so fans of japanese shooters will dig this game.

Tron on the other hand..eep. Did not age well at all. Promptly deleted. Hopefully Discs of Tron fairs better and is updated nicely as a multiplayer DoT would be killer fun.

Awesome. I loved playing Disc Tron, or whatever, in the arcade as a kid.
