Because

and

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guntank

sucked.

Personally I'd rather see a UC Gundam movie. Either 0079 or Zeta Gundam.

Pfft, Guncannon is better :p.

If you like Gundam, uhohs, you might like the new Gundam hack-n-slash game that's for the PS3 and XBOX 360. The part that makes it the most fun for me is practically re-enacting those scenes that happens in a lot of the series where they'll show this lone mobile suit shooting at the gundam and the gundam just dashes up to it and slashes it up... you can do that! I dash around and beat the crap out of people with various suits like Hyakushiki (pretty fun to play as) and God Gundam (renamed Burning Gundam like usual). I've been playing as Kamille lately doing his official quests with the Gundam MK-II... last mission I did was Jaburo !

As a Robotech fan, I have somewhat a mixed feeling about this. It's not going to be the special f/x that worries me. Casting would be the main key as Robotech was made great because it's characters were so emotional and deep. I don't think Toby would make a good Rick Hunter, for one. They should really look hard to find the right person to play Rick, Roy Fokker, and Lisa Hayes. Hayes was the one fictional character that I actually fell in love with so that could make or break it for me. The other characters like Minmei, Ben, Max, and Miriya would be easier to cast for, as fans like me would be more forgiving.

Now if only we'd get star blazers movie made I'd have all my favorite cartoons into movies.

Then we can work on having multiple sequels of each. :)

I heard that they were going to add a scene where an inverted Battleoid makes out with Minmay...

:music:We're off to outer space
We're leaving Mother Earth
To save the human race
Our Star Blazers

Searching for a distant star
Heading off to Iscandar
Leaving all we love behind
Who knows what danger we'll find?

We must be strong and brave
Our home we've got to save
If we don't in just one year
Mother Earth will disappear

Fighting with the Gamilons
We won't stop until we've won
Then we'll return and when we arrive
The Earth will survive
With our Star Blazers!!!:music:

Yeah, I doubt it would have made the TV with the name Yamato.

read about this, i love robotech and macross stuff, but i wonder how they are going to get the sort of depth that the characters and story have in one movie. And they better get a great soundtrack to match.

BattleTech would rock!

I'm "meh" on Toby playing Rick, but I'm excited none the less. I guess I need to pull my Robotech DVDs out :)
