So who did you think gave the best performance at Live 8 ?

I thought the london show was far better than the Philly show, funny how they got a lot of the big american performers to play in london (Madonna, Snoop, REM, Mariah Carey)

Though i'm a huge Pink Floyd fan, i thought Madonna gave the best performance

I didn't see it, but all those bands suck except Pink Floyd so I'll go with them by default (The Who don't count because The Who don't exist anymore)

How can we know? The TV coverage was the worst concert coverage, EVER.

That being the case, I'd have to say The Who.

I would have to say I enjoyed Pink Floyd the best, bust as far as the best stage presence and act....Robbie Williams. He owned Hyde Park.

All I know is that I couldn't fast forward through Robbie Williams's set quick enough! How is this guy successful?

The Who. Pink Floyd was excellent musically, but they had clearly aged vocally. While David Gilmour still has great guitar skills, his voice has definitely lost a step. On the other hand if you closed your eyes while listening to The Who you could have easily believed it was still 1969. Roger Daltrey's voice is still razor sharp.

All the performances at the Canadian one sounded horrible.

Didn't watch much of the American, German, French, or Italian ones.

I was very impressed with the British one though. Floyd was great, although yeah, Gilmour's voice was off... you could tell they were old. The Who, while they don't exactly exist fully anymore, sounded right on target. Mariah Carey (whom I don't really care for) sounded awesome. But I thought Robbie Williams had great stage presence and showmanship. He really got the crowd going.
