LittleBigPlanet looks awesome!

Just found a few new HD videos of the game..It looks so cool! 😉

IGN has some new impressions of the game too:

The possibilities are endless with this title...You can create your own maps and your own OBJECTS within maps in a matter of seconds...copying, pasting, and dropping things wherever you like (even as you play)...You can import your own pictures and textures to use on the surfaces, and you can create unique challenges based on the physics engine in the game. All maps can be uploaded to the web for other players to try and rank...meaning there will be countless user-created maps and mods available for this game over the next few years. Everything about LittleBigPlanet is "open source" making this the first game with a development team of millions! 😉

Have you created any UT3 mods/alterations, N+ levels, or Forge maps for Halo 3? The reason I ask is that while User Created content is a cool idea, not many people truly take advantage of it, and even fewer make anything worth while.

Basing a game mostly on user created content is a recipe for failure, no matter how neat LBP looks.

(oh, and are you a Sony shill? your post seems very salesy)

I don't think I can potentially ever say I'm excited for this game, until a demo comes out and I can make my judgment after time with the game. Until then, I remain skeptical if it deserves all the hype it has received. Personally, Resistance 2 and the next Motorstorm are what have me stoked for Fall.

I watched a number of videos and read a number of previews, but I still have no idea what this games does.

It looks incredible, but when the hell does it come out?!

I'm really looking forward to this, and PSHome, too

LBP comes out in October sometime (no exact release date yet, just month)
Home supposedly comes out around the same time (in beta).

I remember hearing about how mods were going to totally revolutionize UT3 for the PS3 and make it the best shooter on a console ever, but, frankly, that never panned out.

LBP sounds interesting, but I'd like to see some reviews first. It wouldn't be the first time some super-hyped revolutionary game turned out to suck.

Mods were an extra to UT3. This game is BASED off modifying levels. All the people who have played this said this game was a blast

Even though I'll definitely take a look at this title when it releases, I don't get all of the pre-release hype it's getting on the gaming podcasts and forums of the world. LBP and Spore are the two titles for me at the moment that I just don't get the hype for.

I don't mean to be crass, but game reviewers always give free passes and the benefit of the doubt to games that aren't released. Assassin's Creed, anyone?
