They pop and die all over the place, almost like static on a TV in the good old days.

Have not changed any hardware in years, no recent software changes.

I seem to recall this happened in previous years when my video card started going bad. Wanted to confirm with you guys.

Will post a pic later if I can.

OK, now I got problems.

When restarting the computer I get blue screen on boot, says tried to reset video driver and failed. Resets on its own.

It resets fine under safe mode or safe mode with networking.

Will try updating or rolling back my driver. If that doesnt work I think it means my video card has a real issue.

Nope. No help.
Card is borked. At least the 3D processor. (XFX GTX 460, had for several years)

Checked inside the case, everything seemed cool enough. Card fan works fine.

Any suggestions before I order a new card this weekend?

Remember how well Nvidia served you when you buy your new card :)

4+ year-old gaming card. Not too bad. The newer ones run cooler, may last longer.

New card arrived RETARDEDLY fast.

Must have been at the local Amazon warehouse. Came earlier than I ordered and even earlier than that. Bought it at maybe 2 in the morning when I was have some delightful insomnia. Just showed up an hour ago.

Went from 30 FPS to 150 in Fallout 3 (with super duper texture pack)
Hovering around 120 in Skryim (also with super texture pack).
Metro went from 10 FPS to 105.

So yeah, its just as well I had an excuse.

oops, sorry, it was EVGA.

I meant to get an XFX card but it turned out to be the wrong one. Come to think of it, I couldn't even find one I liked.

Do they even make high end geforce cards any more?
