I just recently received an ENLIGHT 7237 case with an ECS K7VTA3. The case comes with an Enlight 300 w PS. I am having trouble getting the thing to run at all. I have the ATX connector plugged in and the corresponding panel connectors are in as well. However, with the ENLIGHT case did not come with a user manual describing the connectors (i.e. positive and negative sides) Should I use the PANEL1 or the LPANEL1? (the manual says that the LPANEL1 is designed specially for OEM customers, which comply with OEM specifications).
When I have tried to start this thing up here's what happens. It begins to start, the fan gets going, but then it dies; however, the mainboard has a red LCD light that indicates that there is power to the board and also the green Power LCD light is on as well. So basically the computer starts up but quits within about 3 secs of starting up, but the MOB supposedly still has power. Am I not connecting the PANEL1 connectors correctly? Any help with this would be much appreciated....

Welcome! Hmm...does that happen when you just switch on the power or does it happen when you just plug in the power? On my computer, when I plug in the power, the fans turn on, but it stops. Then I have to push the power button to get the computer on. If that doesn't work, try switching out the power supply or booting with just your hard drive, video card, RAM and CPU and see if that works. Hope this helps.

Ok, I lied. The P/S fan doesn't turn on. The case fan does. About 3-5 secs afterwards, no noise at all. Can't get anything to work, but it seems as though there is power. (the red LCD light on the MOB is on and the green power LED light is on as well) But I can't get anything else to work, it just dies.

I wouldn't think that the PS is bad, especially if the MOB is still powered on. It's very frustrating....

I lied again, the PS fan does turn on, for about 3-4 secs then shuts off, leaving everything else dead, except for the red light on the MOB. Nothing else works, can't open the CD-Rom, nothing. It's like it has enough juice to get started, but then dies. It does the same thing every time....

yes, I would try a different power supply and eliminate that first. Does your hard drive spin up?

Sounds like the PWS is overtaxed. Take out everything except for your video card and a stick of memory, and try again.

You might have gotten a bad power supply. I have a K7S5A running a 1700+ and a 40 gig HD, all with a 200 watt PWS, so I know it can be done :)

If you keep lying, you're never going to get any help!! :p The motherboard light can still be on even though the power supply is bad. When my computer wouldn't turn on, I refused to believe that the power supply was bad because the green light on the motherboard was still on. It was until I switch out the power supply, that my computer started working again. So try that out first. You never know, it could get your computer up and running. :)

Ok, I have an idea, Check to be sure that you have the voltage selection switch on the back of the power supply set to 110V(115V on some) and not on the 220V (240V on some) setting. If it is in the wrong position, it could cause this type of problem.

Just a Thought................

Ok, all I had hooked up was the PS, the power switch feeder, and the RAM; turned it on, and it started to go, but then stopped (like it has been doing). I tried to power switch button, and it tried to turn on (finally got the power switch hook up right) it started up, and shut right back down with that terrible whining sound...I'm going to go buy a new power supply if I can find one...
