Little red/brown cardboard washers?

Aspire case bag came with these little reddish/brown washers but nowhere in Aspire's online manual does it show them being installed. Do they get used with the motherboard installation? The standoffs are in place, the motherboard sits on top of them, and then do these little cardboard washers get used with the screw and holes on the motherboard?

Sorry for the stupid question but this is my first build and I'm taking 1 step at a time. I'm hoping to be done by Monday. :)

Oh yea, is it a bad idea to be using a magnetic screwdriver. Having trouble finding one that's not magnetic.

they go 2 places.. in between the risers and the mainboard and in between the mainboard and the screws that hold the mainboard down.

At my house, those washers go in the trash.

Magnetic screwdriver is fine. Don't give it a second thought.

Ya, a mag screwdriver is OK.

Meh, I've never bothered with the little washers and never had a problem.

Good Luck on your first build

The red-brown washers are used to permit the mainboard to expand and contract
during thermal cycling. As slight as the groth and shrinkage of the MB is, that's why
the washers are used. A detail? Yes. Are they absolutly needed? No.
They why use them? Because it is good basic work practice.
Start building with sloppy work practice and expect a sad end result.

I've never had a "sad end result"

IMHO, doing unnecessary steps in a project is "sloppy work practice".

Well Fern, I use them and the mainboard screws are not overtightened.
The stand-offs for Lian Li clip in and will permit thermal working of the board, even if the
screws are tightened over snug.

I was just adding my $0.02 not accusing you or anyone else of sloppy workmanship...OK ;)

Atleast I offered the newbie MechBgon's builders guide. So there.
