The only way I found (it was so easy to find one method, and everyone struggled so I kept searching in vain for other methods) was posterize (default settings) in Microsoft Photo Editor (included with almost all versions of Microsoft Office).

Except Office 2003 on, i've got "Microsoft Office Picture Manager" instead, with no posterize :-/

I don't have Photoshop installed on my new laptop yet. I'll see if I can get it installed tomorrow. How are you supposed to adjust it? Auto-adjust?
