Hmmm....I understand the tinkering part of Linux....but I'd say it's more of a workhorse/truck than Windows. Or...it's at least NOT a prius. That's the mac.

Na. I think the OP nailed it. The Linux box will get you further on less hardware (gas).

When i look at it i think

Windows: powerful work horse.

Mac: Gay lol (This image needs some work)

Linux: open and Efficient (The open hood has a lot of meaning, lol)

Granted, Windows has gone through some crazy iterations. Millennium is closer to a Chevy Nova. Windows XP would be a pickup truck. IE, the workhorse for a lot of business desktops and consumer PCs. Early Linux would be a car in a box. Ubuntu would be closer to the pic in the OP. 😉
