I've heard the round ones don't cook too well. Same with the ones with removable plates. I have a large and a small GF grill with non-removable plates, and they work great. I bought the removable plate model to replace my big one when the teflon wore off, and all it did was steam my burgers. My brother got the same one, same deal. I went to go replace that with a round one, but read poor reviews on that one as well. Went back to the non-removable models, works great. Pain to clean tho.

I had a smaller rectangular grill and it worked alright. I then got the one with the removable plates for ease of cleaning. The one w/ the removable plates actually cooked better than the other one. The other one was an older model, but still... the one I have currently hardly "steams" a burger. I have a frozen chicken breast to fully cooked in 10-12 minutes, which is better than the other one. It might be worse than some of the other models, but my experience has been fantastic with it.

I rarely do this, but do not waste your money on this.

It's incredibly underrated, but check the reviews on the Hamilton Beach indoor grills.

I had the smaller white one (about $43) for 8 years and finally upgraded to the bigger, 185" black model just a couple of weeks ago.

They are both absolutely fantastic. Cook almost anything on them, very fast and very evenly, and the plates remove for easy cleaning (and dishwasher safe). I bought the first one when my Foreman broke in a move and saw the white HB on sale for $35 and thought why not. 8 years and it still works like new. I've converted family and friends who swear by them. Works so well that I often don't bother with my Weber.

I was "up" for buying this, but the posts here and the user comments at WalMart, and Amazon have repeated complaints of "steaming, not grilling", sticking, uneven heating and bits breaking.

I loved a friend's fixed plate GF, except for the aggravation while cleaning it, so I was about to leap at this... and, mind you, A LOT of buyers posted enthusiastic comments. I'm guessing there's a real QA problem. Maybe it's worth taking the risk if you're willing to return it.

Have this grill over a year now, have cooked fish, chicken, burgers, dogs and steak on it with no issues. Avoid the foremans.
