This is why he would have made a much stronger general election candidate than Trump. Rubio is a snake, but he knows how to correctly pander to general election audiences. He can move from "Obama is literally a traitor attempting to destroy the US" to this pretty seamlessly. In four years when he runs for president again the crazy talk will be brought out of the closet for use.
