Why does no one stop the kid? Are we that afraid of even kids now?

Nevermind, finally got to the end. Looks like at least one guy decided to stop it.

Afraid of kids? No. Afraid of the consequences? Yes.

Are you really surprised considering not even parents can lay a hand on their own children?

What kind of video is the store on? Is it VHS, CD, DVD, tape, etc.
How big is the store that it can fit on a video? it would have to be pretty small and it doesn't seem like anyone could fit in it to do any damage.

Lawsuits, that's why.

Looks like some Autistic kid got one of those autism rage attacks.

That's the point of the question. We are doomed. One fun thing about the holiday season is watching older holiday movies. The kind where if a kid is acting like a fool somewhere any nearby adult will basically grab the kid by the ear and lead him to his/her parents.

Not that I condone that directly but it's certainly better than being frozen to inaction due to fear of a lawsuit.

Is that the kid's father though? I can't imagine that a "stranger" would physically escort a kid behaving like that out of the store. And, how the heck did it take him so long to get him under control? Earlier in the video, he seems to follow the kid into the stock room, but loses him.

I doubt that's the dad. He wouldn't be around.

Kid is clearly seeking attention.

Obviously noone wants to touch a kid, it can quickly escalate and cost his/her freedom, however one person in the video looked like a store employee, now if you are in-charge of the store then definitely restrain anyone who seems to a threat to your customers should be acceptable.

Hit him real hard and run?

In all seriousness - I would have assumed that someone would have stopped him / attempted to stop him (without striking him). Based on the height of the shelves, he's not very large / old and could be easily stopped by an adult without hurting him. It looked like he had pulled a shelf (cage like display) over at some point of the video. He could have hurt himself.

That was in Florida. It's a wonder he wasn't shot.

Didn't look like the dad to me. Instead, it looked like a teenage employee of the store. It was the same guy who went to the back of the store about mid-way in the video. That guy probably was going to have to pick all that stuff up and said "the hell with this, I'm booting this kid out". Good for him.

That asshat taking the video should be charged with a crime for encouraging the kid to keep it up for the camera.
