little help with NIC card

I have a realtek NIC 10/100mbps NIC card. I use SBCyahoo DSL. I can connect to the net and everything just fine. But the connection for the NIC card down at the bottom right by the clock shows a ! and says limited or no activity. Can anyone tell me why this is and what i need to do to fix it??

Are you sure that DSL is going through the NIC card? Perhaps it's connected via USB and has it's own NIC?
