It depends on the system it's going into. If it's a fairly modern system I would say no, just get a standard SSD and be done with it. $130 will almost get you into a 250GB SSD these days...
 
Its a few years old I know his motherboard supports a small ssd drive but not as the main drive.

Problem is that newegg as regular 2 terabite drives and this hybrid drive for around the same price.
 
Cant find the book for the motherboard but I remember them offering a ability to add a small ssd drive to help speed it up. Might have been a sales gimmick! !,
 
What they are talking about is probably a 'cache' drive... a small 30GB'ish drive you can use for a page file and stuff like that, in addition to whatever main system drive you may have installed. Essentially, that's what that SSHD you originally linked does.

As long as you have a SATA connection, you can install a SSD in lieu of a HDD. There are some tricks and tips to configuring your system once it's installed, but we can cover that if you ever go there.
