I recently purchased the new liteon dvd burner and have had a bit of a problem with the installation. I already had a cd burner (I got it from a friend so I don't know the exact model) and I can't get the both running simultaneously. When both are hooked up, my comp will load to the desktop then spontaneously restart itself. I've hooked them up separately and they work fine. I've tried every wiring combination (primary/secondary ide ports, slave/master jumpers) and they'll show up on my bios but then restarts as the desktop is loading. I also found out that my comp will restart at the same time if only one of the drives is hooked up to the slave port. Is it possible my cable is fubared and I just need a new one? Other people think that either my power supply is pushed to its threshold, the drivers/firmware are out of date, or that my Windows XP is messed up. Anybody else have any ideas on how to solve this restart problem? Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated.
