I recently got a regurbed 16x liteon dvd-rom from newegg. If I put it in the case by itself, windows will recognize the drive, but it wont recognize that I put something in the drive. If I double click it in "my computer" after I put a disc in it says "please insert a disc bla bla bla" I have tried changing the jumper to both master and cable select, and even slave when it is by itself.
If I also have another drive in the computer with it (my liteon cdrw for example) as either master or slave, the dvd drive and the cdrw drive both work fine.
Why doesnt it work when it is by itself??
