funny... I knew this was the combo drive, not the burner... with 110% guarantee and $20 coupon at OD, it's not a flaming deal but a good deal nontheless..

Its not a DVD burner. Its a CD-RW and DVD Reader. I have this drive in one of my machines. I got it for $55 in retail box from Newegg.

So if you go for it, PRINT THE AD. You might be able to score a +RW drive one way or another.

Actually, now it says:
12x DVD Read only, no mention of 4x DVD burn. The still haven't changed the photo.
This is definetly dead. Always check the model # with the manufacturer. Most websites always say 'specs subject to change'.

Well I received an email from them today stating there is a delay on the item I purchased on the 4th. Let me get this straight! They wouldn't let me cancel the order 10 minutes after placing it and now it is delayed but I still can't cancel the order. What a bunch of crap! They are still not acknowleging that the item we ordered was mis-represented by them! I won't be ordering stuff from these folks again!

Yeah I think its safe to say their web marketing person will be looking for a job in a few days when the shiite hits the fan. And for us geeks this is a pretty big screw up. Im surprised cause soo many companies are careless when placing ads and they just end up loosing business.

btw jodhas was right by saying this is a good PM opportunity. Finding a place that will Pm to a web site is another problem. But there is some potential there.

Ok, just got off the phone with a Target guest service representative. The unit shipped today. My point, was why? You know you misrepresented the product on the website and still your shipping the unit out to people who are expecting it to be a DVD burner when it's not. Your site now says it isn't but you haven't notified anyone who ordered it on the 4th that the item stated was wrong. All she told me was that I could refuse shipment of the item and they would issue me a full refund including shipping, and that the product is showing it is under investigation by Target, hence, why no one can purchase it right now. So what do you folks think? Is Target the kind of company that will make good on this deal when they clearly misrepresented the product? I think it is pretty low of them not to have formally acknowledged their mistake on this item to the people who purchased it! I'd be curious to know how many folks ordered this on impulse only to find a few minutes later that this thread was starting to state that it was clearly being misrepresented, and wasn't a DVD burner?

Well no responses, which tells me this deal was a total waste of time! Target is a company I will not be dealing with again! Package arrived today, and I refused it. Now lets see how it takes them to issue me a total refund!

You know, you'da thought theyda learnt their lesson after this fiasco.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I find Target grossly overpriced on many items. For example, regularly in national ads, they'll put in something like "Pepsi (or Coke) products, 12 pack cans, $3.49". Gimme a break -- you can usually get that in just about any convenience store/gas station for cheaper -- what kind of sale is that and why are they wasting their ad dollars to advertise something that is both ubiquitous and not anywhere close to a sale? I guess there are enough morons out there who flock to the store because "it's Tarjay" and something is "for sale" versus "on sale." Maybe it's just me, but I just don't get the cachet.
