Pent. 111 500 320 memory mother board 440 BX DVD player, CD R
Bought a new liteon installed it as slave and left the dvd player as master on the secondary IDE, It worked great, I used it to install the soft ware that came with it, Nero EXpress. Right after I installed Nero, I got a blue screen saying An exception OD has occured at 0028-100c016 in VXD 00280-bff72709 This was called from 0028-c182fff0 In VXD Volt track 04 Plus 00000430. Ok so I dont have the foggest what the heck this means but the system was so unstable that I couldnt do any thing and I rebooted several times and got black screens blue screens and froze screens. so I took out the new cd r rw and reinstalled the old cd r. I installed it just as it has been for over three years (the only reason for upgrade was speed) I set the jumper as slave and the dvd player as master on the secondary IDE but same thing very unstable system. I then set both as cable select and the system returned to normal, but neither device would work and in the device manager there was a yellow exclamation mark ( ! ) on the secondary IDE I tried just the dvd player, as Master I changed them back and forth, and as long as they remained master and slave or slave and master, I got a very unstable system, but when I leave them as cable slect the system is fine but no cd r or dvd.
I tried to uninstall nero express but it wont let me as it keeps asking for the disc and I cant run it, I finally took out all the componets through find, but I still cant delete it from the add and delete location.
any help???????
Its either stable system and no dvd or cdr or just an unstable system with out anything.
