Liteon 52 speed cdrw= crap!!

Ok now I have your attention.....now help me please!!


I have a liteon 52 speed drive with latest Nero and firmware installed.

I am using a Fujifilm 700 mb 48 speed CDR. It says on the box it can burn images and videos to your CDR guaranteed.

Here is my problem.

1)I want to burn Jpeg images onto my CDR and it won't work

2)I can't even burn avi, realplayer, mpeg or any videos to my CDR either.

3) I can't drag and drop images in Nero burning rom b/c the left side of the screen where the images should be dragged to is just a grey area. It was there before but I must of pressed something that made it disappear.


I know there are tons of you liteon users here so can a nice soul please point me in the right direction.

I can copy audio and data files. No problem there.

is there a special program I need to download to get videos and images to burn though?

Number one, your problem is with Nero not the LiteON burner, and number two just because you can't use Nero doesn't mean its crap.

Yes, its with Nero I know that but I can't burn images or videos to my blank CDR.

Ok let me ask you guys this...


What do you do if you want to burn picture jpegs on a blank CDR?

what do you need? how simple is it?

videos as well? like avis? realplayer? mpeg?

Try using the nero wizard and select video cd as what you want to burn.

if u are using xp try drag n drop to your LITEON CDR, right click and choose "write these files to CD" if it works then your problem is the NERO software..

try reinstalling it or update to the latest version...

You could uninstall and reinstall nero.

I have windows 2000 sp3.

Ok as I got my burner hooked up I installed Nero and went straight to their website and got the latest Nero version. I also got the latest firmware.

I will attempt to do a video (mpeg and avi) burn to my CDR now.

start Nero >Create a new CD (ISO) > Data CD ( if you had different types of data ) or Video CD > this should open the file manager interface from which u can drag n drop the files you want to burn, after you've finish choosing the files u want to burn u can either rename the volume of the CD or directly burn the files, which u do by clicking the CD icon with fire on it.

this should open up the burn interface. select the speed u want to burn and click "Burn"

Gee, though it was a HARDWARE problem.......

It was the data cd that made the difference. I was not clicking that for picture (jpeg) burning.

I did a test and it worked fine

Now I have to test the video files while clicking on Data cd under compile a new cd option.
